Our Proven Project Approach

Our Landscape & Hardscape Design and Installation Process

At AJ Morley Enterprises, our goal is to simplify the landscape and hardscape design and installation process while delivering high-quality, long-lasting outdoor spaces. Whether you are starting with a blank slate or updating an existing landscape, our structured and hands-on process helps move your project from the first conversation through final completion.

Planning With Purpose

A Clear Process Makes a Better Outdoor Space

Successful landscape and hardscape projects require careful planning before installation begins. Site conditions, drainage, materials, elevations, plant selections, irrigation, access, and budget all influence the final result.

Our six-step process gives every project a clear direction while allowing room for customer input, revisions, and site-specific adjustments.

From Consultation to Completion

How We Bring Your Landscape Vision to Life

Each phase builds on the one before it, helping us create a finished landscape or hardscape that is attractive, functional, and designed for long-term use.

01
Discovery

Initial Consultation & Property Walkthrough

Every project begins with a personalized on-site meeting. We walk the property, discuss your goals, review problem areas, and learn what you envision—whether it is a low-maintenance yard, a new patio, retaining walls, or a complete landscape overhaul.

We also evaluate terrain, sunlight, soil, drainage, access, and how the outdoor space is currently used so we can establish a clear project direction.

02
Evaluation

Site Analysis & Planning

After the consultation, our team performs a detailed site assessment. We collect measurements, document existing conditions, and review drainage, climate, grade changes, and other property-specific requirements.

This information becomes the foundation for a practical plan that supports both the visual design and the long-term function of the property.

03
Design

Custom Design Development

Using your preferences and our experience, we develop a custom landscape, hardscape, or combined outdoor design. The plan may include plant selections, materials, irrigation, lighting, grade changes, patios, fire features, pergolas, walkways, and other structural elements.

You have an opportunity to review the design and request revisions before the final project scope is approved.

04
Proposal

Transparent Proposal & Cost Estimate

Once the design is approved, we prepare a clear proposal that outlines labor, materials, installation phases, and the agreed project scope.

We review the estimate with you so the project aligns with your expectations, priorities, and available budget before work is scheduled.

05
Construction

Scheduling, Preparation & Professional Installation

After approval, we schedule the project, organize materials, and prepare the site for installation. Preparation may include grading, clearing vegetation, establishing erosion control, removing existing materials, and staging equipment.

Our crews then complete the planned work, which may include sod, trees, plants, pavers, concrete, irrigation, lighting, retaining features, and other landscape or hardscape components.

06
Completion

Final Walkthrough & Ongoing Support

When installation is complete, we walk through the finished project with you and review the completed work. Any remaining details or adjustments are addressed as part of the final completion process.

We can also discuss seasonal care and maintenance options designed to help protect your investment and support the long-term appearance of the landscape.

Why Our Process Works

Planning Helps Prevent Costly Surprises

A structured process allows design decisions, site conditions, materials, drainage, access, and budget concerns to be reviewed before major installation work begins.

This helps create a more organized project, improves communication, and reduces the likelihood of important details being overlooked.

01

Clear Communication

You understand the project direction, scope, and next steps before installation begins.

02

Site-Specific Planning

The design accounts for actual property conditions rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

03

Coordinated Installation

Plants, drainage, irrigation, hardscape, and structural features are planned to work together.

04

Professional Completion

The final walkthrough provides an opportunity to review the completed work and address remaining details.
